welcome to the oak house
The Oak House enchants from the moment you enter this 1904 boutique home. Blending Euro-modern touches with classic charm, it’s easy to fall for its style. This luxurious, spa-like retreat makes staying in feel irresistible—even in the middle of downtown Traverse City during summer.
Boasting four bedrooms and three full baths, The Oak House offers connection and togetherness while cultivating spa like serenity
Two en-suite bedrooms: the first-floor primary suite (clawfoot tub, custom built-ins, vaulted ceiling) accessed from inside or via French doors to the porch, and the second-floor suite atop the stairs with vaulted beamed ceiling and full bath. Bedrooms three and four are also upstairs. Bedroom three: queen bed and sunny windows. Bedroom four: ideal teen/young-adult room with custom marble and fluted maple vanity, built-in closets, wide-plank shiplap, and two built-in twin beds. The upstairs hallway bathroom, with arched entry, Roman-style tub, and high-end fixtures, has a spa-like feel. All bathrooms feature Waterworks brass, porcelain, and marble finishes.
The Oak House if filed with original charm throughout, including thick wood moldings, wood flooring and original custom built in cabinetry
With an open floor plan in the main living areas, The Oak House has a seamless flow from room to room, offering a feel of ease and connection. The living room is in the heart of the home, which opens to the bar room, the dining room and the kitchen. One can cozy up to the gas fireplace with a glass of wine while another is cooking dinner while catching up on the day’s activities. A sunny breakfast nook opens off the kitchen and adds a touch of surprise with a vaulted ceiling, European antique furniture and a luxurious set of cabinetry makes tea and muffins taste even better in the mornings when the sun pours through the windows and sets the tone for the day.
Farm-style front porch surrounded by beautiful English & French landscaping
SUMMERTIME AT the OAK HOUSE
Hydrangea hedges and crabapple trees create fragrant English and French gardens. A farm-style front porch with a plush outdoor living room sits under two large oaks—perfect for morning coffee and lazy weekends. Off the kitchen, grill farmers-market veggies and make pizzas in the Ooni oven for a midsummer dinner. The fenced backyard has dining under a cedar pergola draped with jasmine and white roses. After dinner, gather around a bonfire in comfy chairs to roast s’mores and share stories. These outdoor spaces are ideal for relaxing after a day at West Bay, just blocks away.
